THE BIGGER PICTURE
Vinicius Junior returned to the starting lineup for the first time since last month when he picked up an injury of his own. With the Brazilian's return to the left wing, Mbappe was once again pushed to the central role with Brahim Diaz operating from the right. It was from Diaz's assist that the 25-year-old netted the opening goal, which was also his 50th in the competition.
